Besides wine, what is the most popular drink in Paris...people%26#39;s liquor?...
Thanks.

I would say the most popular before dinner drink or cocktail is the Kir or Kir Royal. Kir is creme de cassis with white wine, and kir royal is with champagne. You will find this on most restaurant menus.
And it%26#39;s yummy.

A second vote for Kir...especially Kir Royale...delish!
|||
Pastis.
|||
Other than wine based aperatifs such as Kir, Lillet, etc. I would venture to say that Pastis may be the most common, followed by Cognac and Armagnac.
|||
As a Kir is fundamentally wine, I second Pastis. This to include the other brands Richard and Pernod; which are all basically the same.
|||
It depends what is meant by liquor.
I would hazard a guess that whiskey/whisky (according to your taste) and brandy are drunk more than any other spirit. I guess the various forms of brandy like armagnac and calvados probably top the list though

CHAMPAGNE!!! Only ever been served Kir once in a French home and none of my friends ever order it in restaurants.
Mojitos are all the rage right now.
The %26quot;people%26#39;s%26quot; liquor, as in what does an avg. guy drink on a reg. basis would be wine. A nice shot of cognac is often enjoyed with coffee in the mornings by local merchants at the neighborhood cafe.

Surely chapagne is a wine, and doesn%26#39;t qualify as a liquor??
If wine qualifies as a liquor then beer is the definative answer to this question. Or water.
|||
Since we are all over the subject--what about %26quot;penache%26quot;?? Still popular? Especially in the a.m. on the way to work?

A very nice cocktail that one can not get in the USA is made by %26quot;Cointreau%26quot; ( We visited the factory in Angers last summer.)
It comes in several flavors but I really liked the %26quot;Passionfruit%26quot; flavor.
If you go to %26quot;La Pre Grill%26quot; in the 5e they do make a mean %26quot;Irish Coffee%26quot; after dinner drink!
