Organ concerts in Paris

Can anyone tell me the best way to find out about schedules for organ concerts in various churches. Either a web site or if you know specifically about certain churches that have them regularly on certain days/certain times.

Thanks both of you. I should be able to find at least one concert from this while in Paris.

|||

If you have to narrow your choices, the concerts at Notre Dame are extraordinary...as are those at Saint Eushache....Saint Séverin, Saint Sulpice and especially Saint Etienne-du-Mont, are just incredible intimate and strikingly beautiful spaces to sit and listen to the retetoires of great composition for grand organ.

Though not organ concert...nor free..the musical concerts at SAINTE-CHAPELLE on Île de la Cité, are an extraordinary musical experience...and would be cheap at thrice the price---

So many are planning a visit that list may be helpful.

|||

Bump

|||

I went to http://www.archetspf.asso.fr/ as a previous poster suggested and there is a piece of music playing. Does anyone know what the piece is? It is beautiful. Unfortunately, the website is completly in French, so if the name is there, I am not seeing it.

Random question, I know. Thanks for any help!

|||

Ariadawn,

Apparently you are not the first person to ask this question. This sites Livre d%26#39;Or shows several individuals who have already posed this question but alas no responses are shown. I assume the music is from one of their CDs.

If you are still curious, go to the site, click on Livre d%26#39;Or, and fill out the form (English is OK) and click on the word %26quot;ENVOI%26quot; when you are finished.

I%26#39;ll bet you get a timely response.

Thanks, Sarastro. I%26#39;ll give it a try!

Hi:

This thread includes wonderful information about something that is high on our list of priorities for our first trip to Paris. In checking the websites listed for the time of our trip, I noted a concert at St. Louis-en-L%26#39;ile. The church%26#39;s website, in French, indicates that the organ was recently installed (or at least I think that%26#39;s what it says).

Has anyone attended an organ concert there or heard this new organ? There are few photos of the church; is the building itself architecturally/artistically significant?

Thanks so much.
