Looking for hotel help...

My husband and I are planning to stay at the Costes end August beginning Sept. I have wanted to stay there for a while and the corporate rate we%26#39;ve gotten seems pretty good. I have however been told by everyone I know that I am making a mistke not staying on the left bank. As far as the maps look, the Costes seems very central in the first. Is it a far walk across the Seine and to the heart of the left bank? The hotel that seems most up our alley on the left is the Montalembert, but we do not have a corporate rate there and it would be a bit more pricey.

I still have plenty of time to change plans, but the Costes seems like the right combination of hip, fun and luxurious. We are young 30%26#39;s from NYC and have never been to Paris. Want to see the sights, roam the streets and soak up culture, be romantic, and eat and party well. (we have a week.) Any advice would be great. Thanks!!!!

You are not making a mistake not staying on the left bank which is not what it used to be anyway. Pars has many interesting areas and today the difference in areas is more East and West than Left or right.

Hotel Costes is very nice and you can be on the left bank (and actually anywhere) in no time. I love their outdoors patio in the summer for lunch or an early dinner. Go for it girl! Costes is very trendy and perfect for a young couple like yours.
