Travel From Bayeux to MSM and then return to Paris

We are trying to plan a visit from Bayeux to MSM on the last full day of our trip and wanted to know the best way to handle travel arrangements since we want to end up in Paris at the end of the day so that we can overnight there prior to our departure the following day. At this point, we have not planned to rent a vehicle, but if that is the best method of transportation for this visit, where should I return the vehicle as I really do not want to drive into Paris.

If you are staying in Bayeux overnight the night before your trip to MSM, there%26#39;s a morning train from Bayeux to Pontorson/Mt. St. Michel, and an afternoon train returning to Bayeux. From Bayeux, you could then get a train back to Paris that same day. I believe there are afternoon train options that connect back to Paris from Pontorson via other places, but we are staying in Bayeux another night so are going back there after our visit to MSM.

Pontorson is 9km from MSM--buses and taxi available.

We will be there in late June. I checked the train schedules and it does look like there is an early morning train to MSM. At 38 Euros, that beats renting the car for 88 Euros.
