Carcassone

Will be there for seven days in september; is 2 days sufficient to explore carcassone or is it worth a longer look? I had thought of a trip to the coast, but does anyone have any `must see/must do` suggestions? all replies gratefully received.

depends what you like to do, I love to drive up to the montage noir , take a walk in the forrest ending up at the cafe beside the lake at pradelles for a cold beer and a swim, then drive up to the pic de nor and sit there and watch the sunset, over the most stunning views this side of paradise. best day out I can think of.

or you could take a picnic and a cold bottle of wine and walk along the canal du midi for the day , more fun if you have the man you love with you!!

or I can spend the day just sitting at a outside cafe in the main square on market day with my camera and sip coffee. and watch the people go by. and buy some yummy goats cheese walnut bread and olives, and strecth out some where sunny and watch the world come back again.

or you can explore the old cite, it takes a good day if you look into every nook and cranny. plus you can spend a fortune , now thats a good day.

Take a drive towards the pyrennees stunning scenery, loads of little villages to stop in for lunch.

Drive to revel to see some amazing buildings and stop at the pizzeria for a very good pizza on the square, you can build your own toppings , very cheap. stop at the lake on the way back for a swim (sorry forgotten name of it ), but you cant miss it. stunning scenery all the way.

there is so much to do around carcassonne I could go on and on. never had a bad day out in all the years i have been there. Hope you enjoy your stay
