I am going to L%26#39;Ile de Ré in August and will be 7 and a half months pregnant, so unlikely to be able to cycle. Is there any other way of getting around? Thanks.

You will need to hire a car then - certainly arrange this before you go. The public transport (bus)system seems to run around the island every hour or so, but it can take forever to get from A-B as it goes the long way to every town! We cycled to one place in 17mins and the bus took an hour to take us there the next time! Taxi%26#39;s seem to be non-existent on the island.
