Hi
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of how we could hire a guide/translator in Paris for a day.
We are a family of 5 travelling in June and we thought that having a guide might be the best use of our time.
Thanks

You do not really need a translator in Paris as English is understood in most restaurants and shops visited by tourists.
I have used Chris at dayinparis@aol.com in the past. She loves and knows the city, is a great guide and...is a French native.

We used Michael Osman when we were in Paris in 2004 and will be with him for a day when we are again in Paris in April. He was terrific with my kids who were 12 and 14 at the time. We went ot Musee d%26#39;Orsay and Monmartre with him and he really gave everything we saw context and kept the kids interested. You can contact him at Parisfind@aol.com. He is somewhat slow to respond to emails, but if you start now, you will be able to get everything arranged before a trip in June.
Have fun,
Eve

Thanks for all of your responses. I will follow up with each of them. Given we have limited time in Paris we want to make the most of it. Thanks again.
