Paris musuem pass

Will be in Paris for the first time, in June with my husband and 9 year old son. Will only have a day and half for sightseeing. Want to see the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre. Would I save time and money by purchasing a Paris Musuem Pass and would my child need one as well. I%26#39;ve read children are free at some monuments. Should I buy the pass on the internet prior to leaving for Paris. Thanks for all the valuable tips.

The PMPass would cover the visit to the Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe, but not the Eiffel tower. The admittance fee for the Arc de Triomphe is 8 euro, the Louvre will cost up to 13 euro p.p. (free for under 18) - which means that the 30 euro for the two-day PMPass is not a good deal for you (unless you want to visit more museums in those 2 days).

Note that visiting the Eiffel tower (and maybe also the Louvre) can involve a lot of waiting - are you sure it%26#39;s a good idea, in view of the available time? The Arc de Triomphe also has a splendid view. And you could easily spend a full day or more in the Louvre - if art is your thing...

If productive time is of the essence and if you are prepared to pay for the museum passes, despite the limited number of places you want to visit then I would go with the passes as they do eliminate wastage of time in queues.

Bearing in mind that the museum pass does not cover the Eiffel Tower , you could see that in the evening, when it might be quieter and with less queues. It is open to midnight I believe and the view is spectacular, with the last lift going up at 11something pm.

With the passes, you may well find other things that you would like to see on the way from one place to another and at the time you are there you will be able to asses better how much time you have to spare. For instance the D%26#39;Orsay is pretty remarkable and virtually across the river from the Louvre.

If you are trying to cram in as much as you can, sometimes a necessary task in Paris, you could fit in 1 museum or 2-3 monuments into each half-dau segment.

IMO , I do not thimk the Museum Pass is valuable for a stay of a day and 1/2 . (If you do decide to buy one do not buy one for your child.)

You would not save money with a Museum Pass and the only place you would save time is at the Louvre. There are other ways to avoid the lines at the Louvre, the simplest of which is to use one of the entrances other than the main entrance at the Pyramid. The Carrousel entrance generally has only a short line if any.
