Ratp Interactive Map

I need some assistance with the RATP map as it relates to the area of the RER and Metro stations around Saint-Michel and Saint-Michel-Notre Dame.

There are two small circles joined by a white line from Saint-Michel-Notre Dame and Cluny-La Sorbonne. What does this indicate? Is it a walking tunnel or a short rail line? I%26#39;m thinking the former but would like clarification
