From Opera Garnier to Gare Nord

What would be the best /fastestway to get to Gare Nord?

Taxi or metro

They are fairly close together. Metro with one transfer. Or, with luggage a taxi might be preferable if one is available. The closest stand is on r. Scribe heading toward bd. Capucines.

The métro would be a bit of a pain with luggage. A taxi would be easy and not terribly expensive, probably less than 10€ *unless* traffic was abnormally heavy and you got grid-locked. (It does happen...)

Not knowing exactly where you are starting out from doesn%26#39;t help but you could consider a short walk across bv. Haussmann to the Haussmann/St.Lazare RER station from which it is only one stop on Line E to Magenta, the station that will bring you up at Gare du Nord.

Best? Fastest? It all depends...
