what's the best way to get from Orly airport to Oberkampf ?

Hi

We%26#39;re traveling mid June and will stay for a week. We need peoples%26#39; expert detailed advice on best way to get from Orly airport (arrival 4pm) to our apartment in the Oberkampf area.

Taxi? Private Shuttle? Metro? (we will have 2 suitcases to haul!)

Thanks

You will have a long flight from Vancouver I would suggest a Taxi.

Ya, I guess I walked into that one!

We are flying from Barcelona on EasyJet! Will arrive at 4pm. Irish Rover....do you have some suggestions? We%26#39;ve been hunting on the website for Orange Chart but am bad on the french translations. It appears that we CAN travel fro Orly to Nord Du Gard with the Orange Chart. It appears reasonably priced. It appears you have to have 1 1/4%26quot; x 1 1/4%26quot; passport photo for the CO pass. It appears that the pass is only valid from Mond to Sun. Well, we land in Orly on Sunday. So what%26#39;s the best plan? The CO pass....it%26#39;s a large bus isn%26#39;t it?

thanks

If you are landing in Paris on a Sunday the Carte Orange, a weekly transport pass with validity from Monday to Sunday, will not be an option for you to get to Oberkampf. As for what *would* be your best option, a lot depends on the exact location you are heading for. %26quot;The Oberkampf area%26quot; is a bit vague to say the least.

My instinct would be to suggest you take a taxi notwithstanding the fact that you will not have had a long flight. Connections from ORY to central Paris by public transport are not the best and a taxi should only cost about 35€. (I don%26#39;t think you can fly from Vancouver or most other places in N. America to ORY, incidentally. Perhaps one day...)

Thank Irish Rover for the advice. The background on us is that we%26#39;re flying Vancouver to Rome and missioning around Rome then Sorrento for 10 days. We cruise from Rome to Barcelona. THAT%26#39;S how we end up in Barcelona. We%26#39;re renting an apartment in Paris....in Marais area....Overkampf is our Metro stop. The street the apartment is on rue Crussol. If that info helps for you to provide more advice, feel free!

We%26#39;ve been offered the use of a driver (he%26#39;s obviously paid by the rental agency) to meet us and shuttle us to the apartment. The fee is 70 euros! Yes, two of us, two suitcases = 70 euros. I see the taxi fare is half that. It would help if we know the distance between Orly and the apartment.......or how long the drive would be..... I have been told that non English speaking taxi drivers can be frustrating.......

Looking forward to a month off work
