Trying to decide whether to stay in Strasbourg or Colmar with our teens 13 and 16, we%26#39;ll have come from 7 nights in Paris so want something different but don%26#39;t want to be bored. How many nights to stay 2 0r 3? Thanks

Strasbourg is bigger than Colmar and it has beautiful Cathedral and several great museums . You would need 1 to 2 days here, according to whether you visit some museums or not .
Colmar is a very cute town, but 1/2 to 1 day max is enough here . Colmar is also quite close to the nicest wine road villages and to several medieval castles (mostly ruined, appart from the Haut-Koenigsbourg) . So if you stay in Colmar you should rent a car and spend a day visiting the surrounding area .

In Strasbourg, there is a little tourist train that leaves from the cathedral. Nice way to get a feel of the city before striking out on your own. E mail the tourist office and ask to be mailed a packet of information.
