I%26#39;d take the Air France coach to the Arc de Triomphe and a taxi from there.

what would be the cost of a taxi from arc de triomphe and is there a taxi rank nearby

This is a useful new insider page created earlier today by travelnutty.

According to www8.mappy.com itinerary it is only 2 kms from Place de l%26#39;Etoile to the Hilton so it would be unlikely to be more than 10 Euros and could be less unless you have heavy traffic or lots of luggage

The %26#39;..degree of difficulty..%26#39; in using the RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne--ROISSYRAIL--train connection from CDG is often greatly exaggerated....and hardly requires a degree in Celestial Mechanics...or an All-State weightlifting title. In your case, the RER %26#39;B%26#39; to SAINT MICHEL-NOTRE DAME, then the quick train change from %26#39;B%26#39; ligne to %26#39;C%26#39; ligne to the CHAMP de MARS-TOUR EIFFEL station (station Exits at quai Branly %26amp; rue de la Federation) is relatively simple. Cross the street from the station Exits its a short walk (perhaps 2-3 blocks) along rue Jean Rey to Ave. de Suffern and the Paris Hilton on the corner.

Perhaps I should expand on my one line answer...

I agree rhat the RER route from CDG to your hotel is not particularly difficult nor unduly inconvenient if you are not encumbered with heavy luggage. I suggested the Air France coach primarily because it is pleasanter and will give you a glimpse of Paris and its surroundings. The ride along the av. de la Grande Armée to the Arc de Triomphe and the taxi ride from there to the Hilton will both have a significant WOW! factor.

|||

again will there be a problem getting a taxi from the airfrance shuttle stop at arc de triomphe

|||

To the best of my recolledction there are at least three taxi stands in the immediate vicinity of the Arc de Triomphe. Again from memory the closest one to the arrival point of the Air France coach will be between av. MacMahon and av. de Wagram, perhaps 50 m from the coach stop on av. Carnot.

|||

Unless you are really unfortunate you will not have to pay more than 45-50 euro for a taxi. It works for me that way than to stress out taking the RER as it%26#39;s straight and convenient.

|||

zeetraveler: the change from RER B to RER C will require some walking and a couple of up-and-over stair climbing exercises to change platforms. All said, when you include the walk from your arrival terminal to the train station, the transfer between trains and the walk from the RER exit to the Hilton, you are looking at a transfer that%26#39;s going to require a fair amount of time and effort, that IMHO, will at least equal a traffic-jammed-slowed-down taxi ride. On any given day of the week that you wouldn%26#39;t have just gotten off an overnight flight, toting luggage, etc., I wouldn%26#39;t advise against it. But under the circumstances....

If you are unwilling to risk a potential 60€ taxi fare, I would follow IrishRvr%26#39;s advice and take the Air France bus combined with a taxi, or, if you don%26#39;t mind dealing with the potential inconvenience of a shuttle, then you can lock in a rate with that as well. If you do a search on %26quot;blue shuttle%26quot; in the search box above, you%26#39;ll get a good deal of feedback on what other people who%26#39;ve used the service think.
