Eiffel Tower, cruise, Louvre, and Passes questions

We are heading to Paris on Saturday for our first trip there. It will be myself, my husband and 2 kids (teen and preteen). We have our hotel as the Holiday Inn by Disney Paris. We are planning to go into Paris itself on Sunday and Monday. I do know these are not the biggest days to do some things, especially since we have now lived in Germany for a year and have gotten used to the European down days, but the things we want to do we have checked on times and days.

I would like some input on what Seine cruises (without meals) people have liked the most and what times of the days you liked taking them. I am also trying to decide if it is better for us to get the Paris Visite pass or the Mobilis since we will be staying in zone 5, but want to be able to hop on and off buses and the metro throughout those 2 days for getting around to see the sights (we have one family member who won%26#39;t be able to walk everywhere).

Has anyone done the free day at the Louvre (first Sunday of the month)? We are planning to get going early to be there by opening time, and we would like to get an idea of what kind of lines we would be looking at for that time on free day.

Lastly, we really didn%26#39;t want to have to stand in a line to go up the Tower, but we did want to send off postcards from it with the stamping they do there. Can anyone tell me if the mailing gets done at the ground level or do we have to go up to one of the levels to do this?

Thanks! I am hoping this trip will wet our appetites for coming back for more trips to Paris since apparently we are living only about a 4 hour drive from there right now.

Seine cruises: I prefer the Vedettes du Pont Neuf as the boats are smaller and the commentary less intrusive. Google them and you can print a 2€ voucher for each of you. I don%26#39;t think the time of day is important unless you will be staying late enough in Paris for the buildings to be illuminated, in which case...

For all but your younger child your most economical transport passes will be one day Zone 1-5 Mobilis passes (two for each of you) costing 12€30. These will cover all your transportation from Marne-la-Vallée into Paris and back and while in Paris by bus or métro. If your younger child is age 11 or younger a two day Zone 1-5 reduced price Paris Visite pass would be a good buy at 13€55. There is no reduced price Mobilis pass.

Crowds at the Louvre will be heavy on the free Sunday. Use the Carrousel entrance to minimize waiting time in the lines.

You will have to go up the Tower to send postcards at least as far as the second level.

Enjoy!
