Cozy, romantic bistro/resto in walking dist. of M. d'Orsay?

Hi:

We (are renting an apt. in the 7th, 2 blocks from the Musee and also near Blvd St. Germain. While I will be cooking many of our meals, I%26#39;m hoping that someone can recommend a bistro or small neighborhood restaurant (French fare and hopefully not filled with tourists) for dinner on our last night, a Sat. at the end of March. We%26#39;re working with a very modest budget but are hoping to find a nice little spot for a %26quot;perfect ending%26quot; to our first trip to Paris. Ideally, we%26#39;d like a recommendation for something within walking distance so that we can have one last stroll back %26quot;home%26quot; after a lovely meal.

Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated. THANKS.

You can cross the bridge and go to rue des Petits Champs by Palais Royal. There are many restaurants in that area. Le Grand Colbert (like in the movie with Keaton/Nicholson), le Bistrot Vivienne (go upstairs) and Maceo are a few that I go to.

On the Boulevard St Germain side I like La ferme Saint Simon and Gaya on rue du Bac..

You%26#39;ve got lots of options. I don%26#39;t know your budget. Aux Fins Gourmets is on boul St Germain and is a very traditional local place that I find exceptionally cozy.

Just in on Bellechase is a nice little wine bar that I like to go to. And Tante Marguerite is not far and there is a Club des Poetes on the rue Bourgogne.

I think that your best bet is to see what catches your eye as you stroll around throughout your visit and make reservations at a place that grabs your attention.

Hi, We found a bistro about 5 yrs ago, and we just cant stop going back. It costs about 30 euros a head for an aperitif, usually a kir royal, 3 course dinner with a bottle of wine between 2 people and coffee. The food is fabulous, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great. Try it out, you`ll love it.

I dont suppose it`s that close, but with the Metro, nowhere takes very long to get to.

The name is Le Bistro des deux Theatres. 9th arrondisment

It`s on the corner of Rue Blanche %26amp; Rue Pigalle, the nearest metro being Trinite.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy it.

There is a charming little bistro called %26quot;Cinq Mars%26quot;very near you on rue Verneuil which is 1 block from the Musée d%26#39;Orsay. Another favorite is just on the other side of Les Invalides called %26quot;Le Florimond%26quot; on Motte-Piquet, which you will pass on your way to and from rue Cler. Someone mentioned the Deux Theatres in the 9th, but there is a much closer member of this chain of Prix Fixe restaurants called the Bistro de Breteuil in the 7th on Ave. de Breteuil; check it out when you visit the excellent street market Saxe-Breteuil open on Thurs. and Sat. mornings. Another charmer that has withstood the test of time and within easy walking distance is the %26quot;Ferme St. Simon%26quot; on rue St.Simon.
