Does anyone know of any cheap airlines that flies between Paris and Amsterdam or cheap train fares. I couldnt get any info for September on the Thalys site.

Appreciate your help!!

You can take a plane, but it will cost you more - both in time and money. You%26#39;ll spend hours going to an airport and back, waiting...

The Thalys is usually faster and cheaper. You can book up to 3 months in advance - that%26#39;s why you couldn%26#39;t find more info.

Prices vary - there%26#39;s 2st and 2nd class (comfort 1 and 2) and there is the choice between %26quot;Smilys%26quot; (low price), %26quot;Mezzo Plus%26quot; and %26quot;Librys%26quot; (higher price but more flexibility, etc.) The cheapest return ticket 2nd class would probably be € 69, the most expensive € 202.

Thalys can be very expensive if you book it just befor traveling.

Can be cheap(er) if you book in advance.

It wil take you to Amsterdam in about 4 houres.

One way Ticket is €101.00 and smileys 2 way is €69.00 (!!).

A much cheaper, but more traveltimetaking (not a word I guess...) is take the bus.

Like eurolines.

If you book in advance it can be like €19.00 or something.

Booking for both Thalys and Eurolines can be from 3 months in advance and will be the cheapest then.

Check Thalys site again closer to departure (3 months in advance).

Thalys is NOT cheap but it is the best way to go.

If you avoid rush hour you will get a better rate.

There also are occasional special deals.

And last minute deals if you are flexible.

Unless you get a special deal it will cost you about 200 Euros.

It is quite easy to get a SMILYs RT fare for less than 70€ by booking as far in advance as possible. If you are only travelling one way just use a false return date — preferably a mid-week day with a late morning departure as these are the least popular trains — and discard the unused return coupon.

There are no budget airlines operating the PAR-AMS route.

I do this trip every time I go to Paris, as I much prefer Schipol plus train to landing at CDG.

Go back online for your rail ticket immediately after midnight Paris time 90 days in advance of your travel date, since the cheapest tickets disappear quickly. It%26#39;s only a 4 hour trip, so second class is just fine. As has been posted, mid morning trips are the most economical, so take a sandwich or something with you since you%26#39;ll be travelling over lunch hour.

Bon voyage.

There are - sometimes - also %26#39;last minute%26#39; ticket offers on the Thalys website. These are %26#39;self-print%26#39; tickets (so you need to have access to a computer and printer to get them) and they are only available if, a few days before the travel date, seats are still unsold.

Thank you all so much for your advice!
