Group of 10-12 Adults Spending a week in Paris

In celebration of a friend%26#39;s 40th, a group of us are thinking about all going to Paris for 4 - 7 days. I assume we can do day trips from the city, but I%26#39;m not sure we%26#39;ll leave the city overnight as we may not all be around at the same time.

Sometimes there%26#39;s a perfect small hotel with 5, 10, 15 rooms that would work for all of us to stay together.

We may be looking in The Marais or The Oberkampf.

Suggestions welcome, both on lodging but also on day trips, etc.

THANKS!

I suggest you look into renting an apartment. You can do a search and get a list of apartment rental webites, here are a few, but there are many more:

I am heading to Paris next week with a group of 17 -- larger than your group. I found it hard to make my own reservations for such a group. We had need of a mish-mosh of room sizes (twins, triples and singles), so that complicated it to. I ultimately found that it was easier to let a group service do the research. I spoke with reps from Gate 1 Travel, and Europe Express, and Air France before finally deciding on the hotel. How much time do you have to make the reservations? the sooner you start, the easier it will go. Good luck!

My favorite event is to go the Eiffel Tower just before sunset and then cruise on the Seine AFTER DARK that leaves from across the street from the tower. Be sure to watch for the tower to sparkle every hour on the hour after dusk. MAGNIFICENT

Godd luck finding a %26quot;perfect small hotel%26quot; that would have 10 or 15 rooms vacant on the same days!!! Now , you know that is not realistic. NO small hotel would even want to take such a reservation because if you cancel you screw them up badly. You will need to consider a moderately sized hotel, perhaps even a chain.

If you really do want a nice small hotel , I suggest you all share rooms, and if they are ten of you that is only 5 doubles, and all decide on which hotel, then each %26quot;couple%26quot; books their own rooms directly. I would not make a point of mentioning that you are part of a group.. as I said a small hotel with only 15 rooms will be nervous reserving 1/3 of their inventory .

I also hope you are talking about doing this trip months from now, as getting 5 or more rooms in a small hotel will be impossible without much notice.

There are many very good %26quot;character%26quot; hotels that are talked about alot on this web site,,.

Perhps post a budget and you will get some good suggestions.

Also check the review board here, click on %26quot; Paris Hotels%26quot; and just start scrolling and reading, I booked two hotels directly using this method and was pleased with out come.

Good Luck.

PS Stay 7 days, remember the first and last day hardly count, jet lag etc, and getting to hotel from airport etc.

A great day trip is Versailles, take the train yourselves, very cheap and easy. .
