I will be staying for a couple of days in this area. Should I stay here or can someone recommend a better beach area. Thank you

One of my friend stayed at the Novotel Hotel in Royan ( rooms overkook the sea) and said that the service was not very good when you don%26#39;t sign up for %26quot; talasso therapy%26quot; it was 2 years ago I hope it has changed. Personally I know a great hotel in Meschers called %26#39; Hotel des grottes%26quot; there 6 rooms on the cliff I went there a couple of years ago and had an unforgettable night. it%26#39;s so peaceful and unusual. the kind of hotel you can%26#39;t find everywhere. but it%26#39;s not in Royan.
