What area would people recommend stayin in Paris? Id Like to be near a metro staion for etting around but also would like somewhere with a bit of atmosphere at night with lots of places to eat. AAny suggestions of hotels in that area would be very helpful

Your budget will determine where you stay to some extent. Really any of the single digit arrondissements would allow you to do all you wish to do within walking distance. 5th %26amp; 6th arrondissements tend to be the most popular and would provide all of the facilities you need. (Left Bank, Latin Quarter).

Also look at Venere.com. They will show you hotels that have availability, allow you to book on line and pay upon departure.
