chamonix to mont blanc

I am travelling to geneva next week and would like to travel up mont blanc. From research I am planning to travel to chamonix but am unsure if there is a cable car up the mountain can someone please confirm. Or alternantively suggest other routes from geneva to mont blanc.

Many Thanks

If you want to get to the top of the Mont Blanc you have to climb it. There is a cable car from Chamonix to the top of the Aiguille du Midi, about 3800 meters (the Mont Blanc is 4808 meters). In good weather the view, including of the Mont Blanc, is really spectacular. There%26#39;s also a gondola that crosses the glacier to the Italian side with some more spectacular views, if the weather is good.

I agree with DesAlpes.

I do not think the Helbrunner gondola runs in winter though.

If you are not a climber forget the top of Mont Blanc, also it is a little early to go up there, too much snow etc.

But the Agille du Midi will be great.

I would second (third!) the previous posters: take the cable car up the Aiguille du Midi. We skiied Chamonix for a week, and the cable car ride to the Aiguille du Midi was included on our ski pass. It%26#39;s possible to purchase the tickets separately (about 30 EU, if I remember correctly) if you aren%26#39;t skiing. But if you do purchase a ski pass, make sure to ask if it%26#39;s included...we wanted to go and were getting ready to hand over money for tickets when someone else alerted us to the fact that they were included in the ski pass we%26#39;d purchased. (Not even the folks at the TI thought to tell us that when we inquired...another tourist helped us out.)

Molly anybody.

The Chamski and Mont Blanc lift passes both include unlimited Aguille Du Midi rides.

However, the Chamski (if you purchase 4 days or more) only lets you have 2 rides on Les Grands Montet cable car.

If you buy a 13 day pass it is 4 rides.
