Selecting a tour

We%26#39;d like an all day tour while staying on the Cote d%26#39;Azur that would visit a number of smaller towns, ex. St. Paul de Vence, Tourrettes Sur Loop.

Does anyone have any recommendations for tours/tour companies that offer such tours?

The Nice Tourist Office has leaflets on such tours but they are very expensive and not especially popular as you can do the same thing yourself as easily by public transport or hiring a car for much less money. You might email the office for details - they are usually pretty good at responding.

Check out www.med-tour.com + previous postings here on these tours. All positive, went last summer, highly recommended. Blah Blah Blah.

Slightly Expensive but - all pleasure ! And will go again.

Let us all know how you get on in Nice.

Oh by the way Lets Go STEELERS LOL

John

Thanks, Dublin18. Med-Tours is one of the companies I was considering.

How does one go about hiring a car? Is that too expensive for a couple of college students?

Not worth the hassle of hiring car in my humble opinion. Stick to train %26amp; bus. Most towns/places to visit are served by public transport.

Hi Nancy,

We used Med-Tours last Oct. and absolutely loved it. It was a very rainy Monday and the all-day (9 hour) tour was the perfect way to spend what otherwise would have been a mostly %26quot;indoor%26quot; day.

Our driver was Jerome; he%26#39;s a doll - so funny and informative. It was so relaxing to have someone else drive. We spent a lot of time talking about wine.

If you do make it up to the medieval villages, check out the back floor in the old church (redundant, I know!) in Tourrettes sur Loop. There is the strangest burial (I think it%26#39;s a burial) marker in the flooring. It has a curious skull carved in it. We took a photo (I would post it but I don%26#39;t think I can in the forums). It%26#39;s very creepy.

We stayed in Nice (Hotel Beau Rivage) for five days. I would return in a heartbeat. Viva la France!

Best regards,

Marjorie

Thanks, Bicoastal/Majorie. This is the tour I%26#39;m considering (on a Monday, too). I%26#39;m glad to hear you had such a good time.
