Citadines de Louvre vs. Residence du Roy; restaurants?

Hi

We are travelling to Paris for 4 days after Easter, with 2 children (9 and 13). Not sure whether to book Citadines near the Louvre or Residence du Roy. Has anyone any experience of either? I%26#39;m a bit worried that the former allows pets - had a bad experience with a hotel in Amsterdam that allowed pets (fleas in the bed!). We like being within reach of the hotel if a rest is necessary before dinner, plus a quiet location and comfortable beds. Some reviewers said the Citadines had thin walls. But the Du Roy is a little bit further out (or not?). Please advise, if you are familiar with either. Plus: how expensive is it to eat out - local food, nothing fancy, but good quality. Thanks.

We know the Citidines Louvre and can recommend it. The location just off Ave. de la Opéra is very busy but we found the room quiet and never heard our neighbors.

We eat almost exclusively at low priced restaurants and there plenty of good ones in Paris.

You can easily find a simple and delicious 3 course lunch for 12€-17€ (including wine at some places) and dinner for under 27€ per person if you look in the neighborhoods and away from the atttractions, particularly the river. Most of the businesses near the Seine are geared for tourism and are more expensive.

Please let me know once you visit, what your experience is. My husband is taking our two teenage girls in July and we just booked du Roy apartments through a wholesaler. They are renting a 2 bedroom 2 bath with kitchen and living room for $680 a night from July 6-10. It sounds like a lot of money to me, but they want the space (husband is working from laptop while there) and want to be centrally located. If anyone knows of some place else that is centrally located and has quite a bit of room, please let me know.

Hi Cindy

I%26#39;ve given up on the Citadines now. Residence du Roy has Early Booking offers - we went for one, which was 255 euros a night, including breakfast, and you can cancel up to quite near the time. It%26#39;s a half-price deal. Have you checked out their website to see if they have a better rate? I think they quoted something like 35 euros a night for use of the kitchenette.

Will let you know if we do go to the du Roy, but haven%26#39;t decided yet. Am looking at the Relais du Louvre now, which seems much more in the centre of things.
